Octet® biosensors and assay kits are configured in a standard 96-well format, for your convenience. They are compatible with all Octet instruments (whether using 96- or 384-well plates). Both kits and biosensors simplify quantitation and kinetics assays by eliminating throughput limitations caused by microfluidic flow, surface regeneration, and sample purification.
ForteBio biosensors are coated with a proprietary biocompatible matrix that is uniform and non-denaturing with minimal non-specific binding. The tips are derivatized and ready for use in a diverse set of biomolecular applications. Biosensors can also be customized for unique applications. Multiple layers can be bound and detected, opening a vast array of approaches to detecting and characterizing biological interactions. To date, over 2.5 million biosensor assays have been run on Octet systems, attesting to the high reproducibility, accuracy, precision and robustness of the platform. Octet biosensors are manufactured in a ISO 9001:2008 certified facility.
Each type of Octet Biosensor is designed to analyze specific biomolecular interactions. A range of surface chemistries is available. Refer to the tables below to select the appropriate biosensor for your needs.
Biosensor
Description
Aminopropylsilane (APS)
Adsorption of proteins and membrane fractions through hydrophobic moieties. Kinetic applications include Adsorption of proteins and membrane fractions through hydrophobic moieties for kinetic screening and affinity characterization (ka, kd,KD). Learn more: download the Aminopropylsilane (APS) Biosensors datasheet
Amine Reactive (AR)
Carboxylate functionalized surface to allow covalent coupling of proteins via EDC/NHS mediated amide bond formation. Kinetic applications include protein and antibody kinetic screening, affinity characterization (ka, kd,KD), and hit validation. Learn more: download the Amine Reactive (AR) Biosensors datasheet
Amine Reactive Second-Generation (AR2G)
Second-generation carboxylate functionalized surface allows covalent coupling of proteins via EDC/s-NHS mediated amide bond formation.
