Letter from our President

Welcome to the first edition of ForteBio's Interactions - an opportunity for us to connect with you to advance your label-free applications in development, bioprocessing, and research. We will be publishing Interactions quarterly, to keep you updated on events, innovations, webinars, and productivity tips.

In this issue, we are proud to welcome a new instrument in the Octet family: the Octet RED System. The system's label-free real-time detection capabilities expand your interaction analysis options for characterizing molecules ranging from protein-protein down to protein-small molecule. With the system's rapid data acquisition rate and sensitivity, the fastest reactions and low molecular weight binders can be easily characterized.

ForteBio is committed to producing products that accelerate the development of therapeutic products at all phases of product development and research. Our label-free solutions are enabling the detection and analysis of biomolecules to be performed easily, quickly, and inexpensively, as a routine laboratory procedure by any user, including non-experts.

Drop us a line at interactions@fortebio.com to share your ideas and suggestions for future issues of Interactions.

Development of the Octet RED System for Label-Free, Multi-Channel Kinetic Analysis of Biomolecular Interactions

This poster demonstrates the performance of kinetic analysis for protein-protein, protein-peptide and protein-small molecules using the Octet RED System.

Label-Free Determination of Kinetic Constants for Small Molecule Binding to Proteins Using ForteBio's Octet RED Multi-Channel Platform

This poster discusses using the Octet RED System, a label-free method for determining kinetic constants, for the binding of small molecule inhibitors (<500 Daltons) to carbonic anhydrase, including rate constants and affinity constants. An analysis of the system's effectiveness in the presence of DMSO is also included, as are comparisons with results from SPR instruments.

Instrument Qualification (IQ)/Operational Qualification (OQ) Documentation Manual

This product bulletin provides an overview of the Octet IQ and OQ manual, detailing the various validations performed to document and verify that the correct Octet System was ordered, delivered and installed according to ForteBio specifications.

Aminopropylsilane (APS) Biosensors (Kinetics Grade) For Hydrophobic Immobilization of Proteins

This product bulletin describes ForteBio's Aminopropylsilane (APS) Biosensors, designed for hydrophobic immobilization of most proteins used in assaying protein:protein interactions. Using APS Biosensors, the Octet RED System and Octet Q/QK System support applications from kinetics screening to full kinetics characterization.
